National entitlement card for older people and people with disabilities

Why would I want a card?

The card gives you concessionary transport benefits via the national concessionary transport scheme, which is run by Transport Scotland.

If you are 60 or over, your card lets you travel for free at any time on buses and scheduled coaches throughout Scotland.  You can also travel for 50p on local trains. Get more information on concessionary travel.

People under 60 with disabilities can also get a card that entitles them to free transport.  

You may also be able to get free travel for a companion if get certain benefits. For more more information on who qualifies go to the Transport Scotland website.

You will be able to get other services - for example library membership - added to your card in the future.

How can I get a card?

You can pick up an application form in any of the city's libraries, you can phone us on (0131) 200 2351 or email One Edinburgh to request a form.  

You can return the form to any of our libraries, but you will need to take with you proof of age, proof that you live in Edinburgh and, if you are applying due to a disability, proof that you qualify.  Find out more about what you will need to provide.
