Leith FortInformation for Residents
Re-housing began in November 2009, and all residents seeking Council or Housing Association housing have now been given Silver Priority. One-to-one appointments have now taken place with the majority of the residents. These appointments offer advice about Edindex and the Choice system, and Regeneration staff can answer your questons, so if you have not yet spoken to a housing officer, please contact the North Edinburgh Neighbourhood Office on 0131 529 5050. You can also view the Housing Options Guide on the Council website. The Regeneration Team has been working with the Fort House Residents Association to look at the re-housing process and how we communicate with residents. If you would like to join the Residents Association please contact Edinburgh Tenants Federation on 0131 475 2509. We are also working with Port of Leith Housing Association to identify opportunities for re-housing. Under the current project timescales it is estimated that the next stage of the project, providing a cleared site, will commence in 2012/13. There are no firm plans for the re-development of the site just yet, but we will keep you up to date with plans. newsletter July 2009 - Edindex and Choice Newsletter January 2010 - Moving House We want this newsletter to reflect your views and answer your questions, so if you have suggestions of topics you would like to see covered in it, please e-mail Hazel Ferguson or call us on 0131 529 7968.
