The 10 character number in brackets after the name of the development is the Planning C1 – Craigmillar Town Centre (08/02553/OUT), minded to grant 21/01/09. PARC seek to develop a new town centre for Craigmillar. It is a mixed use development including, residential (houses apartments) , residential care home (class 8), business (class 4), retail (class 1), food store (class 1) (including cafe), petrol filling station classes 2 and 3, Community High School, Train Station, with associated landscaping, infrastructure and car parking, C9 – Niddrie Mill Primary School (08/03962/FUL), under consideration. PARC propose building 55 residential dwellings including the refurbishment of part of the existing school and associated parking and amenity space at Niddrie Mill Primary School, 267 Niddrie Mains Road. 10 units are affordable housing for Barony HA (8 flats and 2 houses). C11 - Caravan Site and associated storage for fairground folk at Harewood Road on the old Hearts Club site (06/00973/FUL) granted to PARC on 8/6/06. C12 - Residential Units at 1-5 Niddrie Mains Rd (04/02871/OUT) minded to grant 5/3/07. Applicants Taylors/Carey plan to build residential units on 1-5 Niddrie Mains Road near Cairntows Park. InfrastructurePT1 – Public transport link (04/02469/CEC), granted 22/03/06 to construct a public transport link and associated roadway from the New Royal Infirmary to Greendykes Road The road cannot be commenced until the plan to re-route the Niddrie Burn is approved (see below.) N1 and N2– Niddrie Burn restoration project (07/00898/FUL and 08/02474/FUL), under consideration. This is a plan to re-route the Niddrie Burn and open it up in the parts where it runs through a channel. Several new parks will be created around the restored river along with a public transport link connecting the ERI hospital to Greendykes. The application should go to Planning Committee in 2009. The land take is now slightly larger, so the application has been resubmitted as 08/02474/FUL. P1 – Castlebrae High School sports pitch (05/04193/CEC), granted 17/08/06. This new full size synthetic football pitch within fence enclosure and floodlighting is complete. P2 - Castlebrae High School sports pavilion (06/05020/FUL), granted 21/02/07. This is to be located next to the new all-weather football pitch. Construction dates TBA I1 - PARC have built erect 8 industrial/ warehouse buildings at Prestonfield Park, complete with access road, car parking, yards and landscaping. This proposal was Phase 2 and will complete the development of Prestonfield Park. [Phase 1 was completed on 12th November 2001, Planning ref 99/01722/FUL, granted 12/11/01] The application to build Phase 2 was submitted by J. Smart & Co (as Prestonfield Development Company), Planning ref. 06/00588/FUL, granted 14/11/06. However, an amendment to remove the agreement of a cycle path was granted on 21/11/07 (Planning ref. 07/04094/FUL) because of a 1996 agreement with Wimpey Homes to provide the cycle path. The path has been delayed by the planning of flood prevention works to Braid Burn. Fort KinairdFK1 - 284 residential units at Niddrie Bing (03/02034/FUL) minded to grant. This will comprise 116 houses and 168 flats between the Wisp and Fort Kinnaird on either side of the new road planned there. It lies outside the Craigmillar Urban Design Framework. CEC Environmental Services have power of veto on this development since land decontamination is needed. At present Scottish Ministers are considering the application. There is no affordable housing requirement. FK2 - Redevelopment of Fort Kinnaird retail park and new road layout (07/02874/REM) granted 12/10/07. Also related schemes for public realm and landscaping (including new road layout for Newcraighall/the Wisp/Access to the A1). FK3 - Mixed use development, comprising 195 dwellings, small business space (class 4) and associated roads and landscaping (08/02927/FUL), applied 12/8/08, pending decision Submitted by ID Partnership on behalf of Freespace Limited. Owned by Clockwork Group Holdings Limited EdmonstoneE1 – 80 bed private hospital (04/03551/OUT), granted 14/09/06 to Boskabelle Ltd for the erection at Edmonstone House on Old Dalkeith Road of a hospital with associated car parking, access, landscaping and restoration works. E2 - Care home (08/00934/OUT), minded to grant 17/12/08 E3 – Care village (08/00936/OUT), minded to grant 17/12/08 E4 – Temporary soil deposition (07/04787/FUL), granted 10/04/08 for PARC to move the Niddrie Mains spoil heap (ie soil next to Renton House) to land adjacent to the Wisp BioquarterB1 – Biomedical Park (02/04372/OUT), granted 21/12/04. This will be a centre for bio-medical research, including educational and health facilities. B2 – University research building (08/00344/REM), granted 13/08/08. Edinburgh University will develop a centre for regenerative medicine comprising facilities for biomedical research and support services with associated car parking and access at the land adjacent to Little France Drive.
