Housing Market Monitoring Report

The Housing Market Monitoring Report is produced each month and contains the latest information on house price, construction rates, inflation and the economy.

Strategic Environmental Assessments

According to Section 8(1) of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, local authorities are required to determine whether any plan, policy or strategy it produces is likely to have significant environmental effects.

The City of Edinburgh Council has determined, in consultation with the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage and Historic Scotland that its Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) 2009/10 to 2013/14 does not require Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).

Gilmerton Limestone Mines Ground Investigations Reports

Our consulting engineers, ARUP Scotland, completed their survey of the wider Gilmerton area in 2002. They have not identified any new areas where there is a risk to health and safety as a result of limestone workings.

The Council has published eight individual reports covering virtually all the areas where our consulting engineers carried out ground investigations. You can download Independent Inquiry and the Strategic Study as well as individual reports on: Ferniehill , Moredun Park View, Hyvots, Ferniehill Way and Grove, Moredunvale, East Kilngate, Gilmerton Dykes Road Horseshoe and Park Grove and Drum Court. These have been distributed free of charge to residents in each of the areas.
