In addition to being one of most popular venues at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Church Hill Theatre is also the annual home to many of the city's amateur theatre companies including Lothian Youth Arts, Tempo, SMYCMS, Edinburgh Music Theatre Company and Showcase.

Based in Morningside, the Church Hill has recently undergone a major refit to improve facilities and accessibility. Work was carried out to the outside of the building, the cafe, foyer and auditorium. A new passenger lift, wheelchair accessible seating and automatic doors have been added.
