Mental HealthThe City of Edinburgh Council, in partnership with voluntary sector organisations and NHS Lothian, provides a range of social care services for people with mental health problems. These services are aimed at adults, both young and old, who are at risk of, or are experiencing mental health problems. Mental health problems can affect one in four adults at sometime in their life. Issues range from mild depression, anxiety and stress related problems to psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia. These problems can all have an impact on a person's ability to cope with day to day living. Our services and those that we commission are directed at helping people with mental health problems on the road to recovery and supporting people's overall health and well-being. The best way to find out about mental health services in the city is to use Edspace, a specialist local information resource for Edinburgh. What to do in a mental health emergency/crisis?
