Sometimes the Parole Board may conditionally release a prisoner on Parole Licence, Non-Parole Licence, a Supervised Release Order, or an extended sentence.
The offender is supervised by a Criminal Justice social worker for the duration of the Licence or Order and may be recalled to prison if there is a further offence or a breach of any of the conditions of release. The social worker reports back to the Parole Board on the progress of the offender.
Ex prisoners not subject to a license can obtain advice and assistance from SACRO within 12 months of their release from prison.
