To receive a Direct Payment you must have been assessed by the City of Edinburgh Council. This will determine the level of the Direct Payment you will receive, which should be to the same level as the service you would have been offered by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Some services provided by the City of Edinburgh Council have a charge, subject to a financial assessment. The same applies to Direct Payments, so you may be asked to make a contribution.
If you want to know more about charges, please discuss this with your assessor.
Once an assessment has been completed, you can discuss the option of a Direct Payment with your assessor. You need to talk about the arrangements that you would like to have in place.
