Plans for the Haymarket Interchange

Haymarket is an incredibly busy area, a key gateway to the city with more than four million passengers passing through the Haymarket Station every year, not to mention thousands of buses, cars, pedestrians and cyclists.

To make ensure the Haymarket Exchange works smoothly as a transport hub and cope with the needs of our growing city, the City of Edinburgh Council with funding from Transport, commissioned a feasibility study in 2005. This looked at options for redevelopment of Haymarket station and surrounding area, to make it work more efficiently as it becomes significantly busier in years to come. The HIFS is now complete, view the proposal.

Please see the Haymarket Exchange web-site for more information.
