Health and safety

Health and safety legislation is enforced in Edinburgh by either The City of Edinburgh Council or the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) depending on the premises and work activity in question.

Every year thousands of people are injured at work and in the worst case there can be fatalities. The aim of the Health, Safety and Improvement section is to improve the health and safety standards in premises within Edinburgh and reduce these figures.
