Landlord registration for private landlords

From 30 April 2006, most private landlords letting properties in Scotland have been required to apply for registration in the register of landlords.

The aim of landlord registration is to ensure that all private landlords in Scotland are ‘fit and proper’ to be letting residential property.

To raise awareness about the public register of private landlords and the need for private landlords to register, we launched a publicity campaign in July 2010. To find out more click on this link to our News webpage.
