How can I use the Sheltered Housing Support Service?

You will need to be assessed to see how much support you need and our Assessment and Advice Service will be happy to arrange this and provide advice. Or if you prefer, you can contact your social worker, district nurse, carer or support workers.

What if my circumstances change?

You will receive a written copy of any support plan we agreed with you. You can discuss changes in your support needs with us at any time. This means you can discuss increasing your support if you need additional help or decreasing or stopping your support if you no longer need as much.

Will I be charged for this service?

There may be a charge for a housing support service.

There are circumstances in which you will not be charged for services. These include if you are:

• in receipt of Housing Benefit
• the service you require is a short-term need

All new customers to our services will be asked to complete a Financial Information Form, which will be used to assess your financial position and decide if you need to pay.
If you are required to pay, the amount will be based on the level of support you are assessed as needing. This assessment process will ensure you receive the right level of service to match your particular need.

Service Charge (per week)

Sheltered Housing Support       - £7.25
Visiting Support: up to 1 hour   - £8.75
Visiting Support: 2-3 hours      - £17.50    
Visiting Support: 4-5 hours      - £22.00
Visiting Support: Over 5 hours  - £32.51

If you do not wish to reveal your financial circumstances you can sign the form and choose to pay for the service.

Please note that this is currently being reviewed and may be changed in the near future. If this does change, existing customers will not be expected to pay and will be protected from charges.
